In the heart of Newport Beach, looking onto the famous Californian beach, this masterwork of contemporary architecture is able to combine and enhance natural materials, thanks to the use of pure, simple, rigorous lines.
This interior furnishing project features some of the new Infinity collections of ceramic slabs. The aim was to create an inviting, welcoming setting, for a comfortable, relaxing experience, and the result is an ambience with a modern style, characterised by distinctly warm, inviting shades.
For the renovation project of this Villa in California, Pacifica – official Infinity distributor for the US state – supplied some of the most prestigious slabs created by Infinity Surfaces, such as the Metal Dark metal-effect large porcelain stoneware slabs, and the inimitable Calacatta Lincoln, the large-size ceramic solution in the style of fine-quality marble.
In response to the need for settings with a clean-cut visual appeal and a clear style identity, the project features material and colour contrasts between smooth surfaces and precise lines, compact volumes and pure shades of colour.
For this reason, this exclusive living space focuses on a mix & match style that allows the various materials to engage with one another to create a unique design.
The combination of limestone and metal brings a boost to the powerful, dramatic transparency of glass in response to the waters of the sea, while the use of stone recalls the presence of the sand just outside the villa, adding impact and bringing a touch of dynamism to the living spaces by further enhancing the sophisticated appeal of the steel.
The Infinity large porcelain stoneware slabs are the fil rouge that brings the whole project together, and have proved a winning solution, thanks to their ability to accurately replicate all kinds of material – from marble to natural metal – while at the same time guaranteeing a supremely resistant, practical result.
For a smoother, simpler transition between indoors and outdoors, the choice fell to the of Metal Dark large-size porcelain stoneware slabs from the Infinity collection.
Applied on the hearths of the Newport Beach villa, Metal Dark has embellished and illuminated the settings with its sophisticated grey hue and metal effect, ideal for enhancing the modern style of the villa and highlighting the natural purity of the wood, in a splendid interplay of style contrasts.
A further advantage of the large Infinity slabs is that they minimise all joints, making them virtually invisible and thus guaranteeing unrivalled continuity, both physically and in terms of tone.
The worktop of the kitchen in the Californian villa has been covered with large marble-effect slabs from the Calacatta Lincoln collection, for a timeless design.
The collection brings out the full beauty of white, and the exclusive Polished or Levigato Pearl finish is able to give the marble-effect surface an extremely soft tactile sensation, similar to natural stone.
This supremely elegant solution offers maximum style, quality and material resistance, guaranteeing a continuous, joint-free surface.
